Heck a pair of 6600GT's for less than $60 shipped. Now I know they are considered old now but i bet with a nice system a pair of these could still get some decent FPS on a 20 or 22inch monitor.Im totally temped to grab a pair to mess with and maybe voltmood with a good air cooler,I

Why would anyone buy those when a new single $100 card like the HD4850 would eat them alive??? They arent even SM4 I dont think and their performance in SM3 was MEH at best. Maybe good for some boints, but to play anything new... no way.

Just to mess around with them.Its not like they cost a lot .I know a 4850 would kill them .Its not the point just something cheap and fun to mess with and just to see what could be done with them.Heck they could handle any Source game..lol

realistically what would you mess around with? replace the stock cooling and clock the hell out of it? if not then realistically get a single card for same money and better performance and clock the crap out of that one.
SLI only adds about 50% performance increase compared to single card. you only get half back what you spend so spend it on something new.

If its a hobby then go for it. Looking at your sig you already have a super computer. The other members are just telling you its probably not worth it these days with such inexpensive video cards that can play most games.
