Ok, my boss let me know, in a round-about way that he doesn't want me folding on my work computer anymore. Ok, disappointing, but he is the boss. So I've now got 2 9800 GX2s that I need to find a home for.

I brought one home and put it in my main computer, which was only running a GTX 295 Co-op card. And I can't get them to run together. The Co-op will run by itself ok with 2 clients, but when I try and put in the 9800 GX2, both halves of the 295 show up as either GPU 0 or GPU 1 depending on which slot it is in. I can only run 3 clients that way. And even then, 2 of them run VERY slow, for less PPD than the 295 by itself.

Does anybody have experience running multiple 295 Co-op cards in a Vista or Win 7 system? How do the GPUs show up in Riva Tuner?

I've gotten the 295 Co-op to show up as separate GPUs in a Win XP system with 2 295 dual-pcb cards.

you cant put a 295 and 9800gx2 together AFAIK

lmk if you need a place to lay one of the 9800gx2's to rest :D

I will try a 295 and 9800gx2 when I get home and let you know results.

Part of the reason I'm asking, is my tax refund finally came in.

I've got 3 dual-pcb GTX 295 cards, 1 co-op 295, and 2 9800 GX2 cards. I'm getting the EVGA Classified 762 (7 pci-e slots) for my main rig which is going to be running Win-7.

If I'm not going to be able to run the co-op with other cards unless the OS is XP, I should probably get a 4 slot PCI-E motherboard for my media server, instead of a 3 slot board like I was planning on getting.

If it is just the fact I've got a weird MB that won't properly assign GPUs to the OS, then I don't have to get more expensive MB for my media server. We're talking about maybe $150 to $200 in savings here.

Running 3 on one board now, I get about 49-51K PPD depending on WU mix. 4 would give me close to 68K PPD.
