6 or 12 gigs ?

im trying to decide how much ram to buy... 12 gigs is so much money though. what do you guys think i should get ?

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 1600
or
Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600

or i could go 8 gigs and stick with duel channel ??? is 6 gb tri channel faster than 8 gb duel channel ??

Unless you do heavy rendering/encoding or run multiple VM's at the same time, 6GB will be plenty.

I would go with 6 unless you enjoy wasting your money.

If your motherboard supports tri-channel then go with 3 X 2GB sticks.

Any more GB is a waste and dual-channel on a tri-channel board will hit your RAM bandwidth hard.
