i might buy that as a cooling source for my brothers 2 gig northwood, i rea the review and it said that the copper goes out of the heatsink a bit, what if i lapped the copper so it would b flat with the aluminum part and the whole cpu would be in contact with the heatsink? is that a good idea?

I don't think that it would hurt anything. It might even help out alot! The copper is sunk back into the HS so you also wouldn't be using as much AS II for it to make contact. If you do this, put up some pick and tell us how it performs! Good idea! :)
