I finally got it to work. I unlocked the overclock utility for my Geforce2 MX 400. :D. I overclocked it to the max setting this thing will let me go to, im sure if it let me have more mhz I could have went higher :D I got it up to 250mhz core and 100mhz memory. this is as hight as the sliders will let me go so i guess I got it clocked to the max :D

Your slow (i joke). Dont use the coolbit unlock its f**ked up. Your default mem speed on the card is 166. So turn off that reg edit and use this program (i had the VERY same card, and i O/C with this) Powerstrip (look it up on google) i got the core to 240, and the mem to 205.

I got DET 23.11 right now. I was going to take the new ones but they looked like XP drivers and I didnt wanna mess with them. How do i take you coolbits without screwing up my registary. I wanna use that other program you guys said to use, I put a cpu fan on the heatsink of this card and I know I can clock it higher. :D If I lower the FSB on my cpu will my vid card run slower. I have it at 112mhz right now. It was 66mhz out of the box but I upped it while overclocking. I had trouble with the overclock at 1 ghz so I put the cpu back to 900mhz and forgot to put fsb back to 66mhz. So is it ok to leave it at 900mhz with 112mhz FSB? What should I do?

This power strip looks like shareware. I thank you guys for the help, but I would rather have something that lasts forever. I mean why clock you card then a month later you gotta unclock it because your 30 day trial has finished. Tell me if im wrong, is this just 30days or will the card stay clocked even if the trial runs out?

Powerstrip is a shareware, but it dose last forever. You get everything you need to O/C your card in the shareware ver. Its more like will you PLZ send me money if you like it, kind of payment. And to turn off collbits just go into the advanced tab. Goto coolbits and uncheck the bow that says something like "use my settings". PLZ DO THIS. I'm tell you the default on that card is 166mhz your running it SLOWER with the coolbits reg hack.

OMG thanks Vinny, as soon as i get home from work I will fix that up :D I was told I should bring this card back to my comp store and order a GeForce 4 Mx card. I was told it will be about $40-$50 more than this card so it would be worth it. All I want is something that can play tribes2 and RTCW with a good frame rate. :D I want about 40 or more FPS thats all im looking for. Im not out to buy the newest trendy thing out there , I shop for value and this card I have now was only $100. So do you guys think I can get 40 or more FPS out of this card on these kinds of games? If so im going to keep it. BTW I put the fan from my old processor on this thing :D If you need my system specs to tell me if I can get the FPS I want then here they are.
1. Chaintech Main board (im at work so I`ll get more info when I get home)
2. GeForce2 Mx 400 with TV out(made by Jaten)
3. celeron 900mhz processor(2 weeks old) running this with 112mhz FSB from the stock 66mhzFSB.
4. 256 Megs SDram
5. Not important but I have ADSL :D

I use NVMax myself I dislike PowerStrip. Well they are talking USD money not canadian currency Goodie. If you switch there must be a reason to switch if your a heavy gamer etc.

Played around with power strip some until the boot delay got up around thirty seconds. Got tired of watching the screen count down. Power strip does have one thing over nv and that is you can set the latency on the video card. I was able to change the latency from 248 to 32 and sisoft verified this. Helped some once the computer was booted.

Ya Yodums, I am a heavy gamer. I have all the latest 1st person shooters. This is why I need the performanc, but imn on a budget so i bought the mx 400.:( Dunno what to buy now though because I don`t follow who makes what card and for what it;s made for. I have had a TNT2 M64 for 3 yrs so this was not my concern till now. And when I started to look I was overwhelmed with the advance in vid cards since my TNT2 was released. So any suggestions would be great :D

Im going to save on the side for the next 8-9 weeks and get a geoforce4. i play ALOT of games. I'm going to use all my will power to make it those 9 weeks....I liked my MX, but i think you should save and see what happens too the geforce prices in the next month. I'm seeing that iff the gf4 is REALLY under 350. that the gf3's are going to go down to the low 200's.

Maybe I'm the oddball here but I have had better results with coolbits than with powerstrip and the like....seems more stable at higher overclock levels to me...

I personally use rivatuner for overclocking my geforce 2 mx 400.
Try lapping the core btw, it helped me gain 40Mhz more! Now my core runs at 275 Mhz, stable. My memory maxes out at 207 Mhz though, i think I would need a voltage mod. Anyone know if there's a site with that?
