Hello everyone, its been a long time since I've visited this board. :)

Here's my situation:
I used to have a water-cooled system, when I had my socket 754 Athlon XP. I ditched water-cooling because I was too stressed out anytime I had to take it apart. Since then I've been fine with air cooling, but now I'm considering going back.

I just don't like the temp on my GPU. A few weeks ago I had to RMA my card to EVGA, but since I did not register the card within a certain time after I bought it, I cannot get a replacement after this.

I have a temperature sensor stuck in between the cooler and the card, I understand the temps are going to be considerably higher than I am seeing. Idle, it is between 50c and 55c. When I'm playing games it is between 59c and 62c.

Attached to the thread I have a picture of the front of my case, I do not remember the model number and cannot find it anywhere. I also have a picture of the inside, so you can see the position of the card. Underneath the card I have a TV tuner, maybe this is where some of the extra heat is coming from? I also took a picture of the temperature sensor while the PC has been sitting idle all day.

Anyways, I remember back in the day water-cooling kits were not thought highly of at all. I was looking at this Koolance kit <a href="http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=837">here.</a>

Is it a bad idea to go with this? It is attractive to me because I'd like to just install it and be done. The res being on top and built in makes it look so convenient to fill. Also, if anyone knows of a good air cooling solution (I dont see where I can put any fans around this card) I will consider air cooling. : )

Thank you for your help.

Instead of having to cut a opening in the top of your case, you might want to look at this:

You can even move this to another system if/when you up-grade.
I've been using Koolance EXOS systems for about 8 years and have never had the slightest bit of trouble with any of them.
I have a EXOS 2.5 on my main box and EXOS's 1 and 2 on two of my other systems.

OP, please resize pics.

OP, we really don't suggest buying a Koolance system. Way to expensive for what you get. The stuff isn't that bad, but not up to par with a custom kit.

Please start with the stickies at the top of this forum. And read a lot of posts here.

And this too:

Air cooling? easy nuff. Use this as one research site for a CPU cooler. Any of the top 10 air coolers would be fine.

Ok, apparently I need to clarify a few things here. First of all, sorry about the size of the pictures - I didn't realize how big they were.

I do have have any OC on my system. So far I do not see a need to, although it is not out of the question later on. I don't care too much about cooling my CPU right now, my GPU temps are really whats getting to me.

Also, I looked at the external Koolance system... I don't know if that will work for me. I take my PC to LAN parties once a month or so.

As far as price goes... I expect to spend about $200 - $350 on a water-cooling setup. If there is an air solution to just get my GPU temps lower I'd probably go that route. It seems there is just a lot of hot air in that corner of the case. I'd rather not put a fan in the window.

are u going to buy a full waterblock or a GPu block and air cool the ram on ur video card?
Full waterbloc karound http://www.dangerden.com/store/dd-8800-gtx.html (134$)
Gpu (chipset) only around 34$+29 Mcw60 + Gpu ram(copper heatsink)

For Rad u only need a Double Sized rad ( 120.2 ) to cool that gpu
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmc1.html All in one for swiftech ( MCR Drive series )
184 + 135 = 319 Mcr Drive 220 + Full cover gpu block
184 + 34+29 = 247 Mcr Drive 220 + Mcw 60 + copper heatsink
u will need some fan I suggest Yate loon (3.50 Each) low or medium from petra-tech

A fan in the wondow and a Thermalright GPU cooler on the GPU and CPU is a LOT cheaper than going watercooling. Not counting the added weight.

You don't need watercooling, but if you want to anyway, please realize that case, unless your willing to chop the top for a rad won't take a 120x3 rad internally. You would have to hang it off the back, and with your current case positioning, THAT won't work.
