Hi, i recently reformatted my computer and had to reinstall all the drivers, for my graphic card i went to the ati website and installed catalyst 9.11 legacy it was the only thing they had for x800 (i noticed no x800xt pe mentioned here).

after installation i noticed a under unknow devices in device manager, when i go on properties it says its on x800 graphics card...

also in displays under device manager it just shows up as x800 graphics card, before reformat it used to say x800xt platinum edition.

is showing up as unknown devices because it doesn't recognise its the x800xt platinum edition? is there anything i can do?

can i installed an older version with x800xt support?

thanks!

I have an X800XTPE running in my old Dual-Xeon rig still, and 9.11 is fully functional.

Keep in mind that the ONLY thing that separates an X800XT compared to an X800XTPE is the clockspeed of the ram and GPU. XT is 500/500 whereas XTPE is 520/560. From the perspective of the driver the cards are identical.

You can download GPU-Z if you want, to verify that your card is indeed running at XTPE speeds: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
