Whats the better waterblock? The DD Maze2 or the Swiftech MCW462?
I prefer the dangerden but the swifty cools about as well. Its really a toss up between the 2 blocks. The new Swiftech MCW462U on the other hand looks like a real killer to me. I would get this block over any other If I were you. I wish there were some tests but the block is still pretty new.

Actually, the Spir@l is better, if the maker can ever get caught up on his backlog.

The spiral is a great block but I know they were having trouble with the plastic top cracking. The plastic would be fine but they make you install the barbs yourself. Hopefully they will have all the bugs worked out soon. It is the best looking block and probably a top contender. Hoot do you know of any tests with the spiral against the swifty or dangerden.
No, I have not, but I know a good design when I see one. I'd bet the cracking acrylic problem could probably be solved by using a thicker piece and tapping the holes before you screw in the barbs, not to mention avoiding lateral stress on the barbs by strain-relieving your hoses. I wanted one of them desperately when I was shopping for a water system, but the backlog at that time was on the order of a month. Judging from the web page, the backlog hasn't gotten any better.

Anyone know a better reseller than Overclock-Watercool, to find the blocks shown at Overclock-Watercool?

Hoot, take a look tonight they have added more to the site. The spec page is now up. Peter is working hard to get everything up before the end of the weekend.

Copper + Aluminum... is he going to include a bottle of Water Wetter or some form of antifreeze with every unit sold?
Or the better question is, how many tests have been done on the black anodized WBs to see if they corrode without antifreeze/Water Wetter?

Overclock-Watercool is no longer selling direct. they are now going through resellers you can get a list from there site.
secondly anodized WBs aren't supposed to corrode but I would use waterwetter anyway just to be safe plus should run cooler with than without

I sent them an email to see if they can provide me with one of the high volume blocks to put in a head-to-head with my Maze-2. It would make a great Article. I asked the fellow at Spir@l for the same thing several months ago. He replied that he woulf be happy to do so and then I never heard from him again. I guess he's too swamped. I'll try emailing him again.

Peter has always responded to my emails. I have 5 or more from him. He is now a member at this forum.
Hoot your probably right about knowing a good design when you see one. This block makes so much sense I wonder why no one did it before. I know it takes a CNC so thats what probably kept most people away from it. I really want to see some tests with that block. I wonder if it could possibly be much better than the maze. Hoot if you didn't know there are actually 2 versions of the Maze2. I believe the origional Maze2 series had slightly less flow rate and the center barb was directly over the cpu core. The new maze2 series has better flow and the center barb is slightly off center. All this tweaking makes about 1c difference between new and old. I wold like to see the newer Maze2 against this Spiral to see if dangerden can be beat. By the way I have one of each version, a Maze2-1 new revision and a Maze2 the old revision. I should see if I get any difference but I havn't had the time.

Yes, the design looks good. Especially with the acrylic on front, just think, add some of that dye water stuff in there, pop in a black light, and provided you have a window, you got a pretty nice looking setup running. If anyone gets it, be sure to let us know about it lol..
As for the Z4.. It looks good, but when I first saw it, I thought, "Hey, looks a little like DangerDen..." Only good thing is maybe their reservoir\pump combo. Their system isn't all that great, their radiators don't look that capable. Oh well.

Also the Z4 has "copper alloy" not pure copper, which will impact performance, I'm not sure WTF they were thinking when they came up with that.

Prolly macninability.
Pure copper is really weird to machine. Soft and sticky.
re the spiral vs MazeII
several user tests gave a slight advantage to the MazeII
the top should be made from polycarbonate, acrylic stress cracks easily
how about this spiral

The channels look restrictive.
3 water flows through 3 channels at once though
