Content Editors, Authors and everyone else,
The Editorial Team (IMOG, splat, hokiealumnus and mdcomp) are actively involved in cultivating relationships with vendors and manufacturers to procure relevant product samples for review by you, the members of Overclockers.com! In the interest of maintaining these sensitive relationships, we humbly ask the following:
Please do not contact hardware manufacturers or vendors on behalf of Overclockers.com for products to review.
All product requests should be addressed to IMOG, splat, hokiealumnus, mdcomp OR all of us.
There are several reasons for this, including:
Liability - iNet is legitimate corporation and has only appointed IMOG, splat, hokiealumnus and mdcomp to act as representatives of the Overclockers. They want to keep the circle closed in order to protect their interests.
Organization/Scheduling Purposes - The editorial team keeps track of all review requests to ensure no duplicate requests are made and parts are shipped to the correct recipient. This list also helps the Editorial Team schedule content appropriately several days or even a few weeks in advance.
Traffic statistics - Often vendors or manufacturers request traffic statistics before offering products for review. iNet uses these numbers to sell advertising, thus keeps them under wraps. This is a really important part of their business that they need to keep private, the Editorial Team has limited access to these statistics for review purposes.
All requests or suggestions for obtaining hardware review samples should be addressed to IMOG, splat, hokiealumnus, mdcomp or all of us. If you have an industry contact you would like to contact yourself, please give us the details first. We will review those situations on a case by case basis.
Overclockers is community-driven and is built on user-generated content, so we welcome all review requests and ideas. We will do our best to obtain products on your behalf. However, for the reasons I stated above, all these requests need to come through the Editorial Team.
Thanks for your contributions! Keep up the good work!
