I just got an agnga form newegg. green chip. overclocked it to 12.5x133 (2000+) default voltage. 100 percent stable. I won't go any higher because i do not want o run my fsb out of spec.
Cool and I understand. Ought to be somewhere that we can be kept up on what the vendors are selling in whatever range was purchased. This would help the guys here to sort of cherry pick on our own. The vendors would not have to advertise it but we would have a knowledge base in which to order ours.

What the heck's AGOGA mean? I within a week ago purchased an xp1800+...it's currently running 11.5x145mhz (because I could set it to 12.0 in the bios, but nothing happened mhz wise...I guess that's because I have to unlock it?). And running perfectly stable at 1670mhz.
Anyway, just curious.

guys, i posted this same thread like 4 times, the BEST way is to look in the phone book and call every comp store near u, most little ones will let u look at their processors and see if they have the one u want. i found the one i got for 125$ at some little store 20min away. best money i ever spent. this is a great chip. any of the AG GA Y's with the blank being an O,K, or N are all good, the main thing is that they end in Y. the later the letters the newer they are, i think.
trust me, i did alot of studying up on steppings so i didnt get a repeat of my crap T-Bird 1.33 that wouldn't go at 1.4
hope this helps

Sorry for the stupidity, but where is this writing that we're supposed to be looking for?
It is on the center of the processor. Right on top of the heat sink. Welcome to the forums.

If you don't have any luck with the physical stores, you might try emailing Rob from PC Nut at ferret@pcnut.com. I know that they have amazing customer service, although you'll pay a little more than other places (worth every penny, IMHO).
Also, they specifically sell AGOGA 1600+ processors, so they probably won't have any qualms about looking for certain steppings.
