I made my first submission, I entered the wrong RAM amount though...I tried putting 2x2GB and it read it as 2GB...lol. I got a little better score but haven't posted it yet due to a power outage. Hopefully my new score will replace this one, hiding my typo.
Do I have to be on the team before I link my account to OCForums? I might not get many points, if any, since I'll just be on air, but if I do get any I'd like them to go toward the teams' points.
First Submission - MattNo5ss SuperPi Core 2 E8400 9.844s (http://hwbot.org/community/submission/962753_mattno5ss_superpi_core_2_e8400_3.0ghz_9sec_ 844ms)

you just have to make your account part of team ocforums. and any benches submitted with futuremark have to have your nick and ocforums in the description. when you submit 10 different benches you can get on the team officially, pm Deanzo and he can fill you in. welcome aboard and have fun, a great group of guys here, some will be busy for the next 2 weeks as we are doing forum wars (which we have won the last 5 years).
Glad to see another prospective! I joined the team recently and I'm really enjoying it! Don't worry about what you score on your preliminary submissions, no one's expecting you to go for gold for starters :p We'd be happy to have you onboard with us!

Thanks. I linked my account with OCForums, and figured out how to edit submissions. My first submission was worth 2.3 points :D I'd hate to run the 3D benches with a 8600GT, but I have to get those 10 benches somehow...
Oh, I have an E8700 on the way, so I'm trying to get something out of my E8400 before it's replaced.
there have been many actual members of the team that never scored a single point at all. good luck and keep them coming.
check your checksum on the score. It says invalid

Thanks for the heads up, I think I entered something wrong. I didn't really know what I was supposed to put in the "checksum" box, I just put the checksum number...I think I was supposed to validate it first and put that link. I'm going to try to figure that out in a sec.
I submitted the 0.016s better score, I had to loosen RAM timings to get 534MHz. So, maybe with the loosened timings I can get higher.
EDIT: Just found out I don't need the checksum validation unless I'm in the top 20. Also, it seems the SuperPi validation on XS has been broken since Dec '07.

Thing with HWBot is that the hardware you have doesn't matter that much, it's just how much you get out of it.
With that 8600GT you're competing against other 8600GT people.
Except of course for the Global rankings, those require high end hardware.
You've already beaten my point total in non-unique hardware classes, well done :D

Since that's the case, maybe I can get a point or 2 in 3D benches. Hopefully I'll get some more CPU benches done tonight, and I'll work on GPU tomorrow. Thanks for the encouragement.
always remember that there is always someone with more goodies one way or the other, so never get discouraged. just keep on keeping on. It partially about the comaraderie anyway. I benched by myself for years and years and then joined up here not knowing there was such a thing as bench teams. been loving it ever since. What is most funny is there are very few members been here longer than me and I am one of the newer bench members.
Welcome to the team! The 10 bench's are what's required to gain access to the benching lounge. You can be on the OCF team however, and never complete those ten bench's, but trust me... it's a lot more fun in there ;)
Lookin forward to seeing some more scores from you!

Gotcha.
I just submitted wPrime 32M and 1024M. Just from my stable clock, but it netted me 11.2 points! This is fun already, I can see how it can be addicting.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I got a question. What do I run in PiFast? There are a bunch of options, and I haven't found an answer on HWbot's site.

Defaults, whatever they are. One of the batch files just sort does it, it asks for a size and you just hit enter, then away it goes.
It confused me too.

I can't get it to do anything...
I chose the Standard/Basic/Minimum settings:
0 - Calculate Pi with Chudnovsky Method <Fastest>
0 - Standard Mode
10000 digits
1k FFT Size
I must be choosing the wrong settings.

Check in the directory, there should be more than one file you can run, one which will give you all kinds of crazy options, the other which will run the standard benchmark.. i think it's called "hexus_pifast.bat" as opposed to the pifast executable file

Oh okay, didn't realize I had to use the batch file. Thanks.

No problem
make sure when doing system benches that you cant submit to somewhere, that you take you screenshot with cpuz running twice (one on cpu and one on mem)

After spending ~3hrs to get PCMark05 to run, I finally got it to finish with stock settings while I diagnosed the problems. I had to install Windows Media Encoder 9 x86 (x64 doesn't work) and IE.
Do I need the full version of PCMark? The free version doesn't give me a display of my results for a SS, so I just used the ORB link instead. Also, it seems like it didn't pick up my GPU clocks, it just says 0MHz where it should be 540/700.

I never did make pcmark work. I said the hell with it.
unknown trick=Right click and run as administrator, works like a charm when in win7

if you're planning to bench seriously just buy em all and call it a day:rock:

I tried compatibility, administrator, and disabling Aero first, and they didn't help. Installing Encoder 9 x86 and IE got PCMark working.
I dunno if I'll get serious into benching, so I'm trying to hold off on purchases for the time being.
Aquamark does absolutely nothing. I click it and it get "AquaMark Benchmark has stopped working" and I have to press close.
I just need 2 more benches; I have to get one-time use keys to Vantage to use it, so I'm ditching it. AquaMark is having issues. So, I'm downloading 3DMark05 now, crossing my fingers that it will work.

Don't worry, if you spend too much more time doing it, you'll definitely get quite serious about it. It's sort of an addiction you know... :p

For Aquamark, are you using the x64 patch? http://forums.techpowerup.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15135&d=1212618488

+1 to you.
Nope, I wasn't using that patch. That was an easy fix, thanks.
There should be a place for new guys to get info on all these fixes/patches/etc. It would have saved me some time :D
Hey we want you to work a little to get in here!!!!

Lol. Just so you know, I'm still working...I can't get a screen shot of AquaMark. If I use "Print Screen" button and paste into paint, I just get a black box. I can't use the snipping tool with AquaMark up either.

Hit print screen once, then do it again... that always fixes it for me.

I tried pressing print screen twice and multiple times, and I get a black box every time. Am I understanding you right?
if you are using Vista or win7 for pcmark you will also have to make sure that you run the performance index ranking and make sure aero is enabled to get it to run all the tests or you can run the test but not get a score.

Add another benchmark to my problems...
My 3DMark03 results can't be made public. The first page that comes up after I click on "Online ResultBrowser" says "There's a new version of the system scan component of 3DMark03. Please download here." I downloaded and installed, re-ran the scan and I get the same message with the same link. I'm using version 3.6.2
I might not be able to get 10 of the benchmarks to work.
there is a patch link somehwere but dont have time to dig it up, we are online benching right now
I didnt use the newest patch, got one right before it came out, or at least before the date showed for release. you may find it at theraptorpit.com

It's odd, the link at FutureMark says v3.6.0, but it downloads v3.6.2. It also says that v3.6.0 is the only supported version of 3DMark03 :screwy:
I got 3DMark2001 SE to work though. So, I need one more, and it looks like I'll have to fight through the errors/crashes to get it.
for hwbot the srceenshot should suffice

I need the ORB link for it to count towards my 10 benches, plus I don't get offline scores from the futuremark software since they aren't registered. So, just a SS isn't an option. Unless I can use a screenshot from the ORB page for my scores...
And guess what? I have a problem with 3DMark05 as well. At all stock settings on my hardware, I can't get further than test 1 without major graphical errors.
EDIT: Well, I'm gonna sleep on this. I'm gonna have nightmares about AquaMark, 3DMark03, and 3DMark05 :bang head
MattNo5ss
02-20-10, 01:33 PM
I can't (1) get AquaMark screenshots, (2) make 3DMark03 public, or (3) pass 3DMark05 at stock.
So, 3DMark Vantage is my last hope at 10 benches. I'm going to try to get a one-time use key, run it at stock, and hope it completes.
Lots of people having trouble with 03 right now. I'm guessing futuremark is screwed up. But unless you get a top score you can get by with a screen shot. Just open the result in a web browser and scroll down to the score break down, and include the cpuz+2 and gpuz.
Edit: read page 1.
For aquamark on 64bit if the SS is black try changing your background colors and or themes (default). Worked for me. There were some other solutions I'll have to dig up.

I tried default themes, and AquaMark screenshot worked :D Thanks a lot! I'll just use AquaMark for my 10th bench and submit 3DMark03 without ORB.
