Hello,
I bought a 1tb 'my book' external hard drive about 7 months ago ,it was working fine until my father borrowed it and used the wrong power cord to plug it in... now the power lights blink every few seconds when i try to turn it on. So i figured it was broken so i took the two Hard drives out to see if they were still intact. They both work ,but as separate hard drives, so i can't recover my data. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can recover my data? :bang head

Only way to do it is find an enclosure that works for them same model ideally. Because what ever raid solution it was using is the same one you need to get it to read the data.

If feeling technical you could see if there is anything fired on the board and think about replacing it.

yea... I was afraid it would come to that... unfortunately there is no obvious signs of damage on the board.

If they use a standard RAID0 setup, you can try R-Studio NTFS, set them up as a software RAID array, and see if you can get anything off of them.

Whatever you do, first step is to back them up with Norton Ghost if you have vital data on there.

^Agreed^

Definitely make a bit stream copy of both drives before you start messing around with them. That way a fatal mistake wont be fatal :)
