All overclocking is potentially risky, so be aware of that. Also be aware that to overclock is to void your warranty.
That being said, you need to post your specs. I would suggest starting by posting in the topic that matches the manufacturer of your motherboard.
Good luck,

my 800 will do 950 without even tweaking vcore.I have had it to 1050 but 1010 is the max stable speed I can get out of it.
I would not call it a crappy Duron. Every one here started out with something. It is much cheaper to ruin a duron 800 than an xp2000. You will learn alot and will be better prepared later on. More than once I wished I had a Duron around (my old 750 at 1120) just to test the board or get the system up. You will have a great deal of fun and learn much.
Oh and lest I forget, Welcome to my wifes nightmare.
Mine's doing 1,111mhz right now (I gotta update my sig.) at 1.94v. At 1.86v (board limit before mod) my limit was 1053mhz. I've gone over 1150mhz at 2.06v but my crap psu was killing my 5v line so I had to scale things back a bit. If I get a real psu I'm hoping to hit 1200+. Temps aren't good though. 1.94v gives me about +5c over what 1.86v does. It's only gonna get worse come summer.
If money is an issue, there are some here that can help you to build a really cheap waterblock which will allow the heat issue to be calmed down for now. I stopped at 960 on the 750 till I got water cooling in place. Just post a thread Help me to build a cheap water block. What psu are you using?
Cyberzone 300w. I'm planning on getting an Antec 300w soon (hopefully). I'm avoiding water for now. I've got some plans to up the airflow in my case that should bleed off a few extra c. Hopefully that'll get things low enough for me to avoid water all together.

Look for a cheap one that will hold the 5v or is adjustable. If you are planning to upgrade then I recommend a 400w. I use a 400w antec that has adjustable 5v and 3v lines. Ask around here and the guys can point you towards some well priced good units.
I know the model I'm going to get and I have the cheapest place all picked out to get it from. It's just a matter of timing.

every psu I have come acrossed is ajustable.I have an enhance 300w & aopen 300w. Haven't had any problems with eithier one. have 2 hard drives a cdrom and a floppy drive. I can see how you might have to go bigger if you fill you case goodies.
You've never come across a Cyberzone 300w. I cracked mine open a long time ago, no pots.

I ran a generic 300w on the duron 750 but you could really hear the psu hunker down at 1120. Worked fine though. Changed to a 400w antec after checking the internet reviews, ocers opinions, etc, and have been happy ever since. It was one of the cheaper of the best at the time. Presently will power the 1.4 t-bird at 2.35v while holding (after adjusting) both the 3v and the 5v lines.
At that much voltage you better be running water! Whew!!

On the new waterblock she never breaks 42c. I do not run it at 2.35 all the time, only for testing. Right now it is at 2.27v and with prime running in the background, MBM reports 40c. 5v is at 4.97 and 3.3 is at 3.3v.
