Hi, Just joined HWBot and posted up my CPUZ's from my 2 rigs.
Tried posting results for SuperPi 1m and I keep getting a decimal error...
Im posting results as xx.xxx
Anyways my HWBot SN is the same as here.
Thanks,
Ken

I just started yesterday, and it's getting addictive already. I just need 2 more benches before I can request membership. Have fun, I know I am; and good luck!
My HWBot is the same as here as well.

Any ideas on the super pi not submitting b/c of decimal bs?
I would have alot more benches done but I fold 24/7 on all my rigs and shutting down clients and restarting them can be tricky.
Picking up another i7 tomorrow.

I'm not sure I understand the error. HWBot is preventing you from submitting and the reason you get is a decimal error?
The only decimal error I've experienced is a popup when SuperPi fails.
the decimal is already there you put the seconds in one hole and the decimal digits in the last hole
forgot to say welcome to the team, was watching moocow bench live, should check it out

Hey OneFastSnake & welcome to the benching clan IF you're willing to shut down folding@home long enough to run a bench. If you wanna dedicate your CPU cycles to curing the incurable, by all means keep at it (I honestly mean that). But if you wanna have more fun damaging you hardware than you ever thought possible, shut down your DC project and come bench with us !!! :) :)
+1 for recruiting, you go dude

Well Id like to bench part time.
Did a few 3dmark 06 runs tonight on the i7 rig.
Picking up another i7 combo tomorrow.
Will be doing some benching on that while the other rigs fold away.
thanks
Welcome.
I do both, you just loose some PPD while benching. Not a big deal unless you are doing bonus wus.

Well the new i7 is up and running. Currently testing stability.
4.0ghz @ 1.26v ~64*c @ 100% load.
Hope to post a few more benches tonight. Maybe make the magic 10.

Post a cpuz screenshot of the CPU, Memory and SPD tabs snake. Maybe we can help with your FSB wall.

Got the Ultra benched on 05. 24,637
Seems stable enough for benches but not prime95

Thanks! Hoping to post some more benches as soon as I can get the rig semi-stable. :bang head

Amen brother, if it's stable enough to pass the bench, it's stable enough, and by the way "stable" is not a word that we use alot:screwy:

Stability is a myth!
When benching, all that matters is that it makes it through the bench and doesn't crash before you get the score saved.
Just don't use your main drive for serious benching, the lifespan of windows installs is measured in minutes :P
Mine had something go boof in the crossfireness after a single run of 03 and 05. It crashed in 03 the next run, and never worked after that.

The the drive thats in there now is a cheap Hitachi 160 or so.
So far I havent had a drive die ever. Fingers crossed.
As for stability eventually I will be folding on this rig and stability is a must.
Imagine having a world record 3dmark run crash seconds before finishing... But worse lol.
It's a thrill the first time you kill something.... just hope it's not a Gulftown!!!!!
benching and stability dont go hand in hand. thats what overclocking profiles are for so you can lock in your folding profile, then have your overclocking one separate :D

Welcome to the club! that's a common issue....
rock on snake, welcome to our official team. liked your glimpse of the real world the other night. hehe

Just kills the install, not the drive :D
Except for someone on here (i forget who) who was complaining about extremely short drive life.

running 3d06 on the 285 tonight.
Cant get past 22k...
Need to add some voltage to the card I think. I get to a point in OC'ing the card then get artifacts while benching...
Will software work for volt modding the Classified?

sweet!
Just gotta remember the program lol.
EDIT: Raised the vcore from 1.18 to 1.25 then raised the core clock to 799... Driver crash. lol

I just recently passed BOTH Sam_ and dejo in points during the last weekish. Those slackers. :p
Welcome to the team!!! :welcome:
Don't look at my ppd for the last week or so, my rigs are in pieces right now :).
But like others said, find a stable profile for folding and save it. Then go higher to bench. I fold at 4.2ghz and bench at 4.5-4.7 :). Oh and an easy point tip due to the "popularity" rules at hwbot that 8800 could be worth more points than the 285. But bench them all anyway!

My rosetta folding took a big hit last week when i tore down for FW.
Now it's back in action at it's usual speeds, 3.2 at home and 2.6 here.
Home cpu hit 4340, did superpi at 4270.
Don't think i'd leave it 24/7 folding at the 1.53vcore though!
Rosetta/boinc put my work box on probation, i lost a ton of WUs due to a screwup in the process. I feel bad :(

Well turns out my ram is bad...
Memtest 86+ shows a bunch of errors...
Any Idea how to read the error log at the bottom in red?
Ill post a pic in a bit.
Also, can ram pass memtest at one speed and fail at another?
MattNo5ss
02-23-10, 06:32 PM
If you're OCing the RAM, then it could definitely fail MemTest above spec.
It shouldn't fail at or below spec.
onefstsnake
02-23-10, 06:51 PM
well spec is 1600mhz, Im running it at 1528mhz and considerably looser timings than its rated.
MattNo5ss
02-23-10, 07:26 PM
I would RMA. The first set of G.Skills (in sig) I got failed MemTest and I RMA'd instantly, they were only in use for a MemTest run. That's the first thing I do when I get new RAM.

I posted a thread on OCZ's forums hopefully I will get a quick response.
Wont be buying any more OCZ ram again...
the thing with ocz is that they hard bin just about everything. sometimes they choose to let some out in quantity that will oc like crazy to keep the hype up, but for the most part if mem will clock higher it is sold as a higher end unit. So generally you get almost exactly what is advertised. not always the case but generally
Bobnova
02-23-10, 09:36 PM
I must have gotten some of the hype ram. It OCs quite nicely.
sold as 1066, SPD for 1110, runs 1200.

Well ran memtest on individual sticks last night at stock speeds (2.66ghz)
1 tested fine, and 1 had over 8k errors. I now have an RMA ticket with OCZ.
I will probably be putting this up for sale once I get the new stuff. Ordered some G.Skill Pi last night.
that you will prolly like, pi r squ... awesome

02-24-10, 06:29 PM
Thats what I run in my other i7 rig. Love it.
Set CPU to 4.0, set ram to advertised freq and timings, and 24h prime95 stable.
Oh and DRAM running at 1.5v :)
Should have the G.Skill tomorrow. I might have some clearance issues though with the push/pull setup on the Mega though. Fan clips might get in the way of the ram heat sinks...

I have two different Pi products, PiBlack 800 in my work box, which does 870-4-4-4-12 at 1.8v, and Pi DDR3-1333 that does 7-7-7-19-1T at 1.65v.
I really like 'em.

I don't know if thrill is the word I would use LOL
I killed a 4850 wit ha pencil mod. and a Raptor died on me during benching the other day. Not sure what the issue was... maybe booting 315HTREF on a 215 x2 :santa:
