I'm building my first new PC in a really long time, so I'd appreciate some opinions on what I've picked out so far. Since the last time I builit a PC, there has been an explosion of possible choices so I could use some "nice one", or even, "that sucks, don't get that because..."

My goal is to be able to OC the rig enough to get the big bonus points for Folding. Any OC above and beyond that point will just be an ego boost. :)

TIA

I have a couple of concerns on this rig.

First is, will there be enough room in the case WHEN I add another GPU like a GTX 260 or even a higher end GTX 2xx when the Fermi comes out.

Second, I still have my old full tower Antec (I don't know which model) with the AMD Athlon XP and the WC setup attached. I wonder if I should just get a new water block and go water again. (And reuse the old case. I wonder just how badly I carved the case up when I installed the radiator and the pump inside the case?).

Third, why does it take me an hour to decide to buy a $400,000 house and yet it takes me a month parts for a new computer??? lol

Microcenter has the I7 920 for $199 right now, its BM if you have one near you.

I like the Corsair H50 if you have room , its cheaper then the HS/fan you have listed.

I don't have one near me, but I can have a friend go by the one in Tustin in SoCal, but they are OOS now.Microcenter has the I7 920 for $199 right now, its BM if you have one near you.

I think that is a decent set up...

As for room for a Second card... looking at the PCIe slots... your cards will be hugging one another if you go dual GPU's and your top card will be HOTT. I am folding with my sig rig, and the nice thing about the P6T Delux V2 is the spacing of PCIe slots... i have enough room to add a Arctic Cooler (if my heat sinks ever arrive!!!!) and still keep the SLI/Spacing/breathing room... plus my case rocks cause it can support upper or lower PSU mounting, which i have mounted in the "Upper" position giving zero clutter for the bottom card minus the Water Cooling pluming... which is no issue...

Other than that... still good, especially for a single GPU...

Are you planning on running Bigadv?

Bigadv? Darn right I am. That's why I decided to build this.

As for the PCIe slots, as long as the cards fit lengthwise in the case without hitting anything, I'll deal with the heat issue when I get the 2nd GPU.

The GTX 260 I have now hits 2 of the 4 SATA plugs in the OEM MoBo so I had to use a 90 degree SATA plug on the MoBo end which is why I was concerned about the cards fitting.

Besides, for $125 for a starter 1366 MoBo that can use the new hex core chips, I'm happy.I think that is a decent set up...

Have a friend get the i7 from MC as well as the Mega. MC has the Mega for $55 but no fans.

I just picked up the x58A version of your mobo. So far I love it.

Looks good to me. I took the same route with the vid cards. I'll worry about the heat when I get the next one :)

I have a Microcenter up here that I could snag a 920 from if you don't have any luck getting one from your buddy, just shoot me a PM.
