Hi there!
I have overclocked an i7 920 to 4GHz (200x20) (Which is very stable.
My ram is 6GB Kingston HyperX 2000MHz CL8. With the above overclock, the bios (GB GA-EX58-UD5 v. F9) sets it to 1600MHz 10-11-11-29 on auto. The voltage is set to 1.66v
My problem is when I set the multiplier to 10 to get 2000 MHz. it wont even start. All LED's and fans are on for a blink of an eye. Then i'll have to clear the CMOS. Only the timings are on auto.
CPU, Ram and HDD are all watercooled.
I tend to think it's my power supply. It's a 500W (I exploded the 1200W i already had, with som of the water-stuff ). I've found another cheap one though: http://www.shopitonline.dk/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:2573359;c:36217. It's 274,5 USD.
I plan to upgrade my GTX260 with a couple of fermi cards next month.
So is it me that can't overclock or is it some of my components?
