chamged hd cant get cd rom

I put a (4gig with win 98 O/S) in a m766lmrt pII 350, now no cd tried boot disk using cd rom support ,,,cd rom shows(tried master/slave settings on both cd roms) up on boot but not in device manager,,,,tried primary slave, secondary master, changed cd rom nada changed data cables nada,,, power is going to cd rom ?? it is now primary master (HD) primary slave (CD ROM)

see if the BIOS ''sees' it .. you may need to re-add it in there

I hated that about win 98, I would lose my cd-rom all the time.

The easiest way is to run 98 setup and install over your current
system.
