i know that AthlonMP's are made specificaly for dual motherboards, but im curious if i get two XP's to run at the same speed, if it could work.......does anyone know if its even possible?

It is possible, but not guaranteed. About 70%-80% of people who have used XP's instead of MP's have had sucess.

If you want to be sure that it works buy MP's

of the 30 - 20% of times it didnt work..did it result in permant "not cool" problems for the XP, or nothing happens to them?

I believe that the XP's suffer no damage when they fail to work, however....abviously....I can't guarantee that.

Im after a dual board but dont frankly want to buy 2 mp 1600 when i have 1xxp 1600 already


Any dualies out there please coment on it!!

Or is there a hack you can put into the bios to allow 2x XP cpus :).

Guys, MPs are AMD certified SMP CPUs. XPs are hit or miss. But from what I have read its mostly hit.

Check out HardOCP for their review on MSI new dual board. They got 2 XPs to work on the baord.
