i have an aopen geforce 2 ti 32mb. I can overclock it to 280/364 but above that the picture quality is crap, it crashes on 3d mark and there are lots of unwanted colorfull patterns over the screen (caused when i put the ram above 364). I have seen other ppl get their gf2s much faster. i am using the cards oridginal fan but there is a 120mm 135 cfm fan blowing on it. is my overclock a reasonable one, or is the card ****e? would i get any improvement if i got a better hsf for it and ram sinks?

That's probably pretty good for a ti 32mb card with stock cooling. A new hsf and ramsinks might help you get a little higher. The memory is where the performance gain is, it but depends on the quality of the chips whether or not they can go higher. Still, added cooling will protect your card from the heat of overclocked settings.

The Aopen vid cards don't OC too well. You could try putting a better HSF on it but I don't think it'll really help all that much.

My Chaintech GF2ti did not benefit in the least from upgraded HSF and ramsinks... and overclocks about the same as yours. I kind of think many of the GF2tis are pros that are already overclocked....I talked to one person who had a 2ti and NVMax read it at pro speeds (333mhz memory)

My friend has a gf2 ti 500 from gainward. He was able to oc it to 302/610. And i saw it with my own eyes. Then he bm with 3dmark2k1 he has the best score for his card in his class and above. But when he was running the bm %40 of the screen was artifacts i was amazed it did not crash.:D

From what I have read, Gainward appears to be the best for overclocking. That is why I upgraded to the GeForce 3 Ti450 Golden Sample card.
