Hello,

I am trying to figure out where exactly VDDC Slaves/Phases are? While in full load they tend to overheat to almost 130C. Can you please show me which part are they?

thx

All right, I will see what I can do about it.

Any ideas how to lower the temps at least under 90C for those VDDCs?

130C? Doesn't it melt or anything?

Not yet... Fortunately I spotted soon enough. Not even the thermal pads were yet melted but if I let it for about a month it would certainly melt

I really dont get it... I got Accelero extreme 48070x2 (http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2_&mID=244) specially designed for this particular card and it does not cool all damn parts of the card enough.

thats one of the few that is actually supposed to cool the vddc's...should have come with heatsinks that cover them

How do you get the temp of the VDDC?

There are heat sinks but apparently they do not fit as much as they should. It also came with only one set of thermal pads so I have to wait till new set is shipped, then I can replace.

GPU-Z told me this after about 1 hr of full load

Almost all ATI cards had 5-10c difference on Vddc from the core temp. At least it was like that on 2 cards I owned, 1950xt and 4850.

Get a 9cm fan at full speed and point it to the part above the cores which is indicated on glock's post. Also the part to the right, at the end of the card, which is where the cooler's intake right ? Check the temp, if the temp goes down when you point the fan there, then the cooler is not touching them.

You clean inside the cooler right ? the fins and the fan area ?

Hmm, mine doesn't have a reading for anything VDDC related.
Anyway, back to topic, that's kinda hot... i'd just get a VRAM HS and toss on top of the chips and maybe a tiny fan too.

Alternatively, you could just continually crack eggs onto them, and i'm sure the eggs would keep them cool, AND you get breakfast :D

I put two coolers I had on top of the card and guess I finally get results that are not damaging the card, or are they still too high (VDDC especially)?

After 15 mins of full load and 100% fan speed

And this is what I did. I put both on top of the card so each is over one core.

Just to add... In idle any part of the card is very far below 50C even VDDC
