View Full Version : Win2000 Sharing Problem....wont work...
Well I just instaled Windows2000 last night. I was using 98SE before. Today I wanted to share some folders over the network with my one of my roommates...however its a little different than windows 98SE, with that it asked your right away what you wanted the login passwords to be. With windows 2000 it doesnt give me that option the same way 98SE did...I cant figure out how to allow him to get in...I looked on the Microsoft web page and I cant seem to figure out how to do it....
Thanks for the help

You should be able to set up a User Account for him.
Without login credentials a user can't access your shares
How do i go about making a login account for him?

go to the control panel, Users and Passwords. Its pretty self explanatory from there.
There is more detail on permissions and rights in help, just look for Adding Users.
ok i got you thanks for the help
Check this thread if you need more info. 2K (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62683)
You could also just enable the Guest account (its disabled by default for security reasons) and put a password on it.
