Where the Cyrix chips multiplier locked ?
I've got an old mobo and chip, i was going to build up. Mainly for a seti box, and was wondering if i changed the clock ratio on the board to x4 instead of x3 if it would work ?

unlocked all the way...
BUT THEY RUN HOT, and do not overclock very well at all.
from 3x to 4x is a big jump, the CPU may not be able to take it...
But give it a try, Best of luck

I was going to put an athlon HSF on it. Might even use the spare delta i've got. :D
How hot is HOT for these chips ?

I dunno about ur problem here... but w/ even the retail hsf w/ regular fan, u can have it running w/o a problem I think...
the cyrix MII cpus are a joke, lol.
they run very very hot, its about as bad as an athlon, lol.
my expereince has been with the cyrix3 cpus but ive used a few MII ones and they arent good for overclocking at all.
the MII's might be multiplier locked but im not sure.
i know the Cyrix3 ones are multi unlocked tho
if 75x4 wont work try 66x4, if it doesnt comes up differently then it may be locked
