View Full Version : Generic Memory
Hi,
Is generic memory (such as http://www.icentral.com/html/1stchoicememory/page11.html) just bad when over clocked? Or is it bad all around?
Please tell me if I sohuld get this in a non-overclocked machine.

I use generic ram in all my rigs, some of which are overclocked with 150 fsb. Some of the ram I've gotten won't oc at all, but some does fine.
It is a bit more risky if you are going to oc, but if not- just make sure you get it from a reputable vendor and its fine.
Is 1sr choice memory a reputable vendor?

By the way (I wasn't paying attention!)
Welcome to the Forums!!
I haven't heard of them...but that doesn't mean much.
Try resellerratings.com and see if they are listed.
Some of the common memory vendors (also High Quality) are Mushkin, Corsair and Crucial. I buy all mine locally, so I can't remember any others.
There is all kinds of info on the main OC.Com page tooOverclockers.Com (http://www.overclockers.com)
