Guys I have a BFG GTS 250 that takes a single 6 pin power connection and I bought a galaxy GTS 250 that takes a dual 6 pin. My PSU is a OCZ ModXStream 700 watt and when i plug in the second card it will not boot at all. There is power to motherboard but when I press the boot button nothing happens. Any ideas?

are both 250's the 1gb version ? do you have them in the right slots ? do you have the SLI bridge installed ?

I am not sli bridging them because i am folding on them and the BFG is a 1gb and the Galaxy is a 512 version. I have a MSI MOBO and i have tried them in both slots.

Jason I forgot to tell you I posted from your house on my BB :D. Here is more information on jdsparks issue.

Installed a second card and we get no power One card is a bfg gts250 1gb with one 6pin plug, the second card is as galaxy gts250 512mb with e 6pin plugs. The power supply has 2 12v rails @ 25a, both cards say they use 24a. Why does 1 card have 1 plug but the other has 2 plugs?

Any help is appreciated.

Different manufacturers design different cards/pcbs/power requirements. Possibly the one card with the 2x 6pin plugs has a higher power draw than the single 6pin card. Thus is why it fails to post when both are installed.

Have you tried each card separately?

each card was tried by itself with the other un-installed and in different slots. The BFG starts up where we put it. The Galaxy let us boot the system when the connectors weren't plugged in.

I was going to bring it over my house and see if it worked in my system but didn't
