I noticed my sound card has clicking and popping noises when my cpu is under a heavy load. I noticed this A LOT when I clocked my celeron 1GHz to 667 and upped the volts to 2v to burn-in. If I play a mp3 then run prime95, as soon as prime95 starts my sound is horribly distorted by static noises. I just have a cheap sound blaster pci, but is this effect harmful to my cpu or common when burning in? For cooling I have a ocz glacier2 with 38cfm fan.

I noticed that too sometimes. I have no idea what it can possibly be but something conducting to the sound card or the enviorment around us with some magnetic stuff (As I have a TV next to my monitor and when I turn it on the monitor gets sort of lines going across it and degaussing will not help).

I read a thread a few days ago (can't remember which one) where the guy said that he had clocked down to 66FSB for a burn-in, and his sound card wouldn't even work at that bus. Maybe you are having the same problem...

I've heard of this when overclocked but not when underclocked b/c PCI bus is still 33Mhz at 1/2 divisor

Well, it has do be do to CPU unstablilty, but it runs prime95 with no errors, and it has suffice cooling. Weird, this really sucks, I need to play MP3s to mask the noise of my screaming fans.

maybe 2V is a bit high...drop it down a notch or 2

I had it at 1.8 and same thing. I just hope this isn't harmful to my CPU.

If your board has the option, increase the latency for the PCI buss.

I have been running my Celly 1.1a at a 66mhz fsb for about
24 hours now at 1.8v (This is the .13 tualatin version.. default 1.475)

I haven't had any kind of sound or other problems.

When I decided to do this burnin for a while, I wasn't sure
if it would work, but this XET-C board is doing it great.

Sandra reports my PCI and AGP right at 33/66.
Memory is running at 99.

I bet your motherboard aint liking something.

1.8v shouldn't be to much for one of the non Tually celerons...

I dunno but maybe your soundcard is just going out. I actually recently bought a SB-16 PCI b/c I knew it would take high FSB

Ran at 39 for over a month with no probs
