i have finally figured out why my computer is hotter with my nice new heatsink. i presume its the clip, as when the comp is horizontal i get 43degrees idle but when its vertical i get 68 degrees idle.

what do i do? i cant verywell use my cd drive if its horizontal!

Is the clip on right?

Can you lift the HS off the chip?

I haven't seen the clip on that HSF but is it possable to take it off and give it a little bend so that it will hold with more tension? With a little creativity you can probably make your own mounting system using the 4 holes in the mobo.

erm i'll try bending the clip a little, after i've received a response from the people i bought it off. but making my own mounting system is just plain stupid.

The fan for the G-Lite and The Glaciator 2 are held on by double sided tape. The I replaced the GLite fan with a 38cfm delta by placing a small screwdriver between the slats in the sink and using upward pressure to pop the fan off of the tape. Once removed, you can also change the clip if desired by removing the double sided tape from the sink.
