Hey someone here is selling a CUV4X with a 600 mhz socket 370 cpu, is that a good motherboard for overclocking?? And can the celeron 600 go far?
How much is it going for?
Because if its really expensive (The combo) then I wouldn't go for it. Anything above 100 dollars together I wouldn't really go for.
The board should be ok for overclocking as all Asus boards are ok for overclocking.

well it comes as a whole system I was planning on buying it for my sister it has the following:
Asus CUV4X (Coppermine Socket 370) MoBo
Coppermine Celeron 600 CPU
64 SDRAM
16 meg Voodoo 3 AGP Video Card
56k Fax Modem
Yamaha 3D Sound
3.2 GB Hard Drive and 2.2 Gig Drive
4 USB Ports
Floppy Drive
52X LG Cd-Rom Drive
Winnie the Pooh Keyboard
Mouse
"Doggie" ATX Case (Great Kid's Computer)
15" "Digital" Brand Monitor
for $400 Canadian so about $250 US, would that be worth it? Pictures of it can be seen here:

anyways i was thinking of buying it without the monitor, but before i would give it to my sister I would try and overclock it see how far it would go, so what do u think worth it?
I wouldn't take it.
Alot of local stores will give you a Athlon XP setup for about 600 dollars with a big hard drive, mouses etc and it'll last longer than that so if you think time wise your spending more money buying the Celeron.

I don't know Yodems...for $250 US, that's a decent deal...most of the components are generic, therock911@, so you don't have a gaurantee on anything sticking with you for the long haul, but for a nice, small computer for your sister, I would call that a fair deal...and I'm sure she would love you for it :D
The RAM, sound and video would be my main concerns, as far as that system goes...as well as the USB keyboard and mouse (no ps2 ports really erks me for some reason...oh yeah, know I know....because I don't have a USB mouse or keyboard!)

Here in Canada our local stores have really good deal believe it or not and they are equipped with good boards like Asus and stuff.
My cousin got his good rig for about 300 dollars USD with much more expanded stuff in his options like a 20gig, 128ram etc I mean eventually he'll have to upgrade the ram and the ram prices will go up. OS's will steal 33% of that HDD etc its not worth it IMHO.

good point...you're from Canada, so you would know prices better up there. In GA., that's a decent deal...;)
