I intend to upgrade my build to 4gb ddr3, not now since i dont need it. I dont even have a proper video card yet. But the ram I have did give me some issues, but I got it working stable and fine since I bumped up the voltage to 1.75.

There are not many ram modules that are rated at 1.75 so that is an issue, but what other problems might I run into.

My first choice would be to sell the ram I bought and just buy a 4gb kit.

But a more economical solution for me would be to just add on another 2gb.

Do I need to have matching timings or is it just the voltage that needs to match? And what kind of realistic performance can I loose by using 2 unmatched ram modules.

or just screw it and upgrade with 4 more gb of ram.

matching timings and voltages are crucial. if you don't your computer will be unstable and crash a lot. umm you could get some random 2 gigs of ram and match timings and volts but it is just best to get 4gb new to be safe.
