I'm looking to upgrade my 3 week old water rig. (I'm just like that, i guess.) I'm currently running the cpufx z4 kit, but without the tiny radiator. I'm using the 6 x 6 heater core, like the big momma. I want to upgrade to a 1/2" hose system. Who's stuff performs better dtekcustoms or dangerden ?? I'm not concerned about price. I like the dtek stuff, but leary about the pump. It's a little RIO 400. ( I"m scared of these!) Anyway-this forum has created a watercooling addict/monster. I want more cooling, and I don't have a problem paying for it, I just want the best. I do want a decent resevoir, that's the catch. I prefer it.
I'm also running the GeForce cooler, and my temps are about 41c under full load. I want more!!
I appreciate any insight and suggesgtions.
Thanks!

My opinion is the danger den maze 2/2. I bet that xp would go higher with a pelt. For water (non-chilled) a bong. I get between 4 and 10c below ambient water temps.

i wouldn't bother with a res.

this is hoots water setup. No res. Very sweet.

I read everytHING I can here. I flipped my fans after the first time I saw you post that username. It did'nt change anything. I was a little suprised/disappointed. My set up was built after seeing Hoot's, with the exception that my pump/resevoir is mounted externally on the top of the case. I put my radiator up front like the Hoot's . Maybe it's time to pelt ?? I tried a 500gph pump from overclockershideout, it ran warmer by 3c. I was thinking it was too much,

well the fan flip is for air cooled machines. with a setup like hoots you would want to do the oppisit. blow cold air over the rad.

And i find some peps i got to work with cause the airflow aint good in their machines.

Sorry it didn't work for you. I guess you were using air at the time. I bet we coulda made it work tho.

If you have an in line pump you really have no use for a res.

can you post a pic of your rig? what are you water temps at full load? I would guess you got the same air flow problem you did before.

I'm using the D-Tek Customs radiator/shroud and it's a real sweet setup. The shroud has angled sides for better airflow and is made from tack-welded sheetmetel, with a cutout for a 120 mm fan. The D-Tek radiator looks pretty much like the one in Hoot's machine. I wouldn't trust anything other than an Eheim pump, but that is just my aquarium experience with Eheim equipment talking. I have no personal experience with Rio pumps. I'm using a DD maze 1C1 waterbolck on this P3 1.26S rig. I found the waterblock base and coldplate finish to be not too flat or smooth, so I lapped everything, which probably took about 4 hrs total for the waterblock bottom and both sides of the coldplate. I also had everything made with 1/2" fittings so that I have less restriction in the tubing/waterblock/radiator. I'm also using a reservoir, but that is just my personal preference.

Also, I had no problems ordering from either DD or D-Tek. Danny at D-Tek sent plenty of email to keep me informed of the progress of my order, and I received it in good time and well packed.

I will post pics if it helps. My water temps from radiator never get above 23.6 c while ambient is a pretty constant 21c. Case temps are about 26c to 28c under hard load. Cpu hits 41c. Pics coming ASAP.... using Antec 1040b case.

Thanks everyone!!

Here is a pic of my rig. It's built in an Antec SX1200 case.

Sweet rig!! Very Nice.
I'm waiting for the wife to get back with some new batteries for the digital camera. She left it on and killed them :(

I looked at Procooling and they had an article on watercooling buying guides. I would go with DangerDen, and you can make a res out of alot of things that just lay around the house. (I.E. i have seen someone use a 100 CD-R Spindle.
to check out the article go here Link (http://www.procooling.com/articles/html/unaclockers_h2o_buyers_guide_-.shtml)

i suggest you setup your own system, dont suggest makin your block unless your up for a lot of trial and error.....
i got a heatercore that i sized down and modded.... got a maxijet and made my own rezi.... dont have it all installed cuz my block leaked. but the block is super nice and installs very good!
