Hey guys, newbie here.
I just signed myself up on the OCS Seti Team,
now dont get all excited, I only have an athlon 1.2, and most of the time I Have games running on top of seti, so on average I get a WU done in about 24 hours.
Is this expectable?
WELCOME TO THE TEAM!!!! :D:D:D but... thoes times do sound a bit long.... do u use the screen saver version of seti or the command line version??

Just switched from the Screen saver to the Seti Spy (minamized)
This will also stop the "OH MY GOD, WHAT'S THAT SPIKE" comments form family memebrs.
Welcome! Glad to have another cruncher helping out!
I haven't worked with that particular chip, but alot would depend on how much time each day you spend gaming, and how processor intensive the games are. One easy way to compare your times to others using similar machines is to check out the benchmarks (http://www.ocsetiteam.com/benchmark.htm) page at the OC Seti Team Site. You can download the benchmark file and run it yourself, or simply use the results shown to give you a "ballpark" idea of what similar systems are doing.
If you are using the screensaver version of the Seti client, switching to the command line client will decrease the WU time quite a bit. You can find instructions at http://www.ocsetiteam.com/Instr1.htm on how to set your machine up with the command line client and a queing program, which is quickly becoming more important, as Berkely recently has been having bandwidth problems and keeping extra work units on hand keeps your machine from going idle while trying to upload/download from Seti@home.
Welcome again!

Welcome To The Team!!
And an Athlon 1.2 is nothing to sneeze at!
Times do sound a bit long, but clc (command line client) usually helps with that. The best times are gotten with pcs dedicated to just running Seti, but not everyone has multiple pcs!
And a new member that gets active in the team is always something to get excited about:D
Welcome aboard! We like all the help we can get around here.
Welcome to the team.
All crunchers are welcome and appretiated. We all start somewhere, and most of us didn't start with a 1g machine.
I think that the seed's been planted, another potential farmer in the ranks.
Good Luck!

Welcome, and go get all your friends to crunch for you to. Go infect their PCs with seti.
