Could someone enlighten a little as to what it is and how it should be adjusted

The Graphics aperture size in the bios has kinda the same properties as the virtual memory (or swap file) of you OS. It allows the vid card to store temporary graphics data in the system memory when the vid cards memory is in use (full). Changing it from the default can increase performance to a point... anymore and you'll lose performance. With mine... the default is 64... my sweet spot is 128... any more and performance is lost.

*also... noticed your new here... welcome to the forums... if I haven't said it already :D *

Yes Rain said it. Its how much of the video card ram and the system ram will be sharing.

Usually performance varies from the user some will get better performances with bigger or smaller aperature sizes.

I would suggest you either posting in the memory topic, or in the game topic if that is what you think the ram will be good for...

Good luck,

With regard to Aperture size, check this link,

http://www.itcp.net/~awsh/Speed_Demonz/BIOS_Guide/BIOS_Guide_Index.htm

I think on page three there is more than you ever wanted to know.

If you can do 768 or 1 gig of memory all the better. XP runs fine with 512 DDR I find as you can see by my sig. I have not had any mem issues and I do alot of converting mpeg to vcd and playing with photoshop.

yes Rain did answer the original question correctly. I have found 128 to be the sweet spot for my agp aperture as well.
