Amazing new MMO

My work schedule has caused me to stop being able to raid, which was right after finishing all Ulduar hard modes. If you're not raiding, there is very little to do in WoW. I went through leveling 3 alts up to 80, and getting them in full T9/BiS pre raid gear in less than two weeks each.

I only mention this because I've become very bored with WoW, so I've been searching for another MMO to play since single player games really don't hold my interest anymore. Knowing your a fan of WoW, reading this thread title from you got my hopes up, only to crash them through the floor 60 seconds later after reading your post and link. Bravo!

As far as the game itself goes, it made me chuckle.

I know the feeling Jon, i played wow up until it wasnt managable with work then came back for 10m's with friends. Our fairly successful group fell apart and then i pretty much stopped playing again. honestly i didnt find Icecrown incredibly fun (up through Sindragosa) anyways.

I'm currently waiting on FFXIV, loved ffxi but that game was very time consuming. assuming that ffxiv turns out to be rubbish there is also Star Wars: The Old Republic which will be bioware's first mmo endeavor. however sadly these titles are still way off in the timeline.

I myself have been catching and checking out Steam deals while i wait

I'm currently waiting on FFXIV, loved ffxi but that game was very time consuming. assuming that ffxiv turns out to be rubbish there is also Star Wars: The Old Republic which will be bioware's first mmo endeavor. however sadly these titles are still way off in the timeline.


I tried the trial of FFXI, figured hell, I love Final Fantasy, it can't be that bad... First, I couldn't get the graphics to look anything close to good. Like if you bring up a screenshot of the gameplay online? Couldn't get close to that. It just looked like sub-PS1 graphics. Then, it took me about half an hour, just to figure out how to make my character move. It was promptly uninstalled.

I probably will try out FFXIV though, as well as SWToR in hopes of finding a new good MMO to kill time. I'm not expecting anything to "kill" WoW, just something that can keep me entertained for some time.

I got bored of WoW too. Subscription has lapsed, might renew it when Cataclysm hits, might not. I tried Fallen Earth for a few days, it got old fast - no endgame, and no dungeons that I could find. Just craft and grind.

The Huxley beta had some real promise, but they have since dropped out of sight. FF14 appears the be the next big thing, although with FF11 so cheap now, I'm tempted to try it. I've heard it's full of botters, but who really cares, I just want to see the content.

I signed up for the FFXIV beta. I pray to god that it is better than FFXI. Hopefully they learned from their past mistakes.

I have high hopes for SWToR.

The Secret World looks decent as well, but I shudder that it's made by Funcom. I came this || close to trying ST:O in my boredom, but decided there's better things to spend my money on.
