Two monitors. Help

I have 8500, and two monitors. How can I set each monitor to different desktop. Like first monitor on desktop 1, and second on desktop two.

Are both monitors CRT? If so then you'll need to plug one into the normal vga out and the other you'll need a DVI-I-to-VGA adapter... not sure if you'll need to set anything up in the display properties but more than likely you will.;)

they are CTR's. all runing good, but both showing same desktop pic, and I need the to show like game on one and desktop on another. Stuff like that.

if its not dual head forget it

u can buy a pci video card , and setup dual video card setup

other wise same image on both moniters i think............

It is dual head ATI Radeon 8500. Come on 8500 users, help me out.

i have done dual moniters , infact tripple

so uve got both CRT's hooked through DB15 plugs right ?

yes. I got two ViewSonic's 17 inch. They are working as two exact copy of desktop 1, bu I want them to be 1st monitor desktop 1 and 2nd desktop two.

go itno your display setings ( where u change your res )

and where it says your video card

their should be a pull down menu where u can select the other one

select number 2

then look for the extend my destop check box on the botom left check it

and wala uve got 2X the destop space

u need 98 se or higher to do dual moniters in windows

in linux i know redhat 7.2 works with matrox dual heads

but i dont know about radeons

Hey neghbor. In display prop. under settings what pull down manu you talking about. I don't see any exept colors, and advance. Talk to me...:)

umm..the ati icon on tray has a hydravision option, did ya chk that out?...thats what hydravisions;)

i dont have 2 mons. yet, but i will soon...i think u have to load mutlidesk maybe..i just went thro the windows real quik, but it seems to have everything there.

if its a dual head , inside the blue box u should be able to slelect number 1 or number 2
