Does downloads affect uploads speed and vice versa?

your connection should be Full-duplex... which means you can transfer up and down independently....

but give it a try... test your DL speed at DSLreports.com while uploading something somewhere, and then test again without uploading and see if there is a difference..

Then let us know the results...
