whats wrong

well im just watching a movie, and it freezes, and then it will come back in half a second, or in a minute. i have no idea what the problem is

Just a few ideas here so bear with me.... could it be hd access by background apps, fragmented hd, vid card setting, ummmmm.... thinking... alright... I'm blank:D

Well, I think DivX itself is probably the problem. It's great that it is possible to encode movies to such a small size, but the DivX codec has problems up the Wazoo. Some movies work well, others don't... It works well on some computers, on others it doesn't. I think if you wait a while, the DivX codec will slowly get more reliable, and less glitchy... It may be a couple months, maybe a couple years. who knows!

BTW, the DivX 4.12 Codec was recently released... If everyone didn't know, go download it.

well the problem is fixed...i think..but damnit, i deleted my entire half life folder with like 6 mods, because i thought it was messing up!!!! all i did, i switched the cdrom drives to diff master and slave. and i tied back all the wires so they were out of the way. and now it seems to be working. but im at school right now, so i will test more when i get home
