mixing pc2100 with pc2400?

currently have 256 corsair pc2400,
any affects if i put another 256 stick but 2100?
or does it necessarily have to be another pc2400?

It shouldn't matter the 2400 is rated to run higher but you can run them both together. Depends on what you want to run your frontside bus at.

it will be running on an epox 8kha+ with xp1800.
currently the most i can get out of my system is
11.5 (not unlocked) x 146 = 1679
winxp would not load any higher than that.
vcore is at max = 1.85 and i beleive memory voltage is +.30 - .40
thinking of getting another 256 stick of ram but not sure what to get. I see some deals but dont know if they are name brands, for around $60. frys does have corsair pc2400 for $79.99
any suggestions?

The Corsair looks like a good deal. I'm getting some 256 Crucial in tomorrow for a computer I'm building. I paid 78 dollars for it. That seems to be the average price for 256 mb.
