From what I've heard so far, Geforce4 MX series aren't going to be good at all. They're not even the same GPU as the real Geforce4, but some sort of castrated GF2/3 hybrid, w/o DX8 hardware support. I think GF3 TI200 will remain a much better bargain, especially after the prices fall after GF4 launch. Of course it's all just speculation, and I'll reserve my fnal judgement until I see some actual benchmarks.

In a previous thread here I saw a AOpen Geforce4MX440 for $95....we all found it hard to belive it was the real thing considering the price.....but your statement suggests it is true, after all. Makes me sad though, this new card can hardly be any better than a GF2Pro......will be interesting to read some benchmarks!

kinda of strange low timings since i can overclock my Geforce 2 GTS to 230/420

Sweet, now if only I had the money! :D

Thats way cheaper than the Ti200 and I bet overclocked it owns too... Although the 27.00 series really reak so I don't know how they would do till nVidia gets some better drivers, since all the people I saw had drops in the 27.00

I find it hard to believe that Nvidia would release a product that is better (or equal) to the Geforce3Ti500 at half the price...but hey that's just me..... :D

The lack of true DX8 support on the lower MX models concerns me. That kinda shows me that there must be a pretty big difference in gpu when comparing the MX's to the Ti's. I guess we'll find out soon enough though...we'll see some benchmarks soon I hope. Is GF4 still out tommorrow? (the 5th) I'm curious becuase I'm looking for a new video card and holding back from the visiontek gf3ti200 to see what GF4 prices and performance are...

Ofcourse, now I'm getting hooked on the Radeon 8500 all in wonder...thats got a ton of features that'd be real fun to play with!!

27.20 gave me my highest 3dmark score. No stability problems as of yet.

Newegg took it off the list, it was there before.
Maybe it was a mistake.

Ok, some more preliminary info indicates that GF4MX is none other than Nvidia's NV17 -- an intended sucessor to the mobile GF2GO that was showed off earlier this year at Comdex. This GPU has been described as "an odd marriage of GF2 and GF3 technology" and "Geforce3 MX". So it seems like is Nvida is trying to cheat the consumers by dabbing the new desktop release of this chip "Geforce4 MX" to boost sales. The real Geforce4 is NV25 - an entirely different chip with far superior capabilities.

Well I just did a search at pricewatch for mx440 and found several gf4 mx cards on there now.
Some of the vendors show it as in stock even.

As the previous post say's unless you know you want one for sure you might want to wait until some real info is out as to performance and spec's.

Gf4mx 440 can be found here. (http://www.accessmicro.com/productinfo.php3?ProductId=V64MTAG8861)

I have never bought anything here but doesn't look too bad.
