Think it should be in General Hardware.
I think that non-interleaved ribbon cables are the 80 wire ATA100/133 IDE cables, and are direction polarised.
Interleaved are 40 wire ATA33/66 IDE cables, and are non-polarised

a google seach for "non-interleaved cable" yields 0 results "interleaved cable" is an accidental 1. I must also confess never hearing of such a thing. Normally, I have heard interleaved and non-interleaved in the context of memory.
To what are you referring?

The 40 pin 80 conductor (UDMA 66/100/133) is the interleaved because each signal wire has an interleaved ground wire between it. This reduces cross-talk enabling higher transfer rates.
