We're looking to get a van soon, and something that has always interested me was putting basically an ITX board somewhere in the van and it powering a couple screens and so forth.

I used a DC to DC power supply from the MP3 Car store but I've seen people use a 12VDC to 110VAC inverter with a 110V PSU. I feel the DC -DC supply is the safer route because it's powered by a always on 12V line and is controlled by the ignition switch plus a DC supply runs a lot cooler and you don't need a bulky inverter.
