You will need to clear the bios I think, via jumpers or taking out the battery. There is a little progiie I think. Try this (attached)

If it is a major manufacturer, I would suggest going to their website. They often have manuals or other information on their older products.

If the bios is passworded, it may be so for a reason. Try taking it back to the guy who sold you it.

Most laptops have a bios battery just like desktops. if you feel comfortable doing so and have the tools, I'd just open it up and look for a small lithium battery, see if you can disconnect it, you might even replace it while you're in there since a P133 laptop's battery could be getting toward the end of it's life... Also, you might look in the phonebook for a place that sells all kinds of batteries... We have a store here called "Battery Patrol" that sells laptop, camcorder, car, marine, cell phone, cordless phone, UPS, and computer batteries etc. Typically, they'll install a battery for you for free or a small charge... I think the most I've ever paid was 5 dollars to replace the CMOS battery on an older motherboard that had it soldered on... They desoldered it and resoldered in the new one... I could have done it, but I had the board with me and they offered... I figgered 5 bucks vs my time and effort with the soldering iron... it was worth it... :-D
Peace
John

If you have that nagging Bios password on any Award BIOS,
there is a default password you can use: shift+s y x z.

You can try these desktop passwords for AMI
