I was wondering if BF1942 servers were still populated with people for playing??

Anyone know?

Theres a Gamearena server for DC Final
But thats here in Australia

There's hardly anyone playing, but sometimes you can find 5-10 people on a server. Most of the maps people play are modded, which I don't like. I play every now and then just to screw around (Desert Combat, that is).

This guys obviously don't play. People do play this game, you can play in moongamers servers which are popular. DC you can play at EA 117 server and such. I have the game installed and play sometimes, there's a lot of people that still plays, including myself.

As a matter of fact right now

MoonGamersBF1942..............16/50 (it's 2am)...Tobruk (conquest)
EA 117 - DC Fan Favorites.....26/48.................dc battle of 73 easting (conquest)

In the day this servers in particular are fill up almost to capacity.

of course, there are more servers, this two just happen to be my favorites.

this is what i love about pc gaming and one thing i found out when i got a 360 for a short time. You can pop in quake (which i have done and got owned so bad i cried). But we did that hell about 3 months ago for fun with a few 660 mhz old machines. But its just so good to see u can go back to old games and find players and if their isn't anyone playing u can usually search the web and find sites of clans that are still active and they only play at say 8 o'clock this time on these nights.

But on the console i never find this at all for the most part.

To add to this post, I have a friend that still plays this on his old athlon xp machine every night.

You're right, I don't play often. Every time I have played in the past year, though, there have been 2-3 servers with 5-10 people. Sometimes there's one server with 15-20. I noticed the most populated servers are always CTF for some reason. They're all the same people that have been playing the same game in the same server for 5 years now. Maybe there are more players now, though. I've not played for a few months. Too bad BF2 killed it, 1942 and DC are far superior.

I played the demo. It's a really REALLY old game.

It LOOKS older than it really is actually. I think 2142 came out juuuuuust before the next gen.

I downloaded the demo the other day and played it... I was SHOCKED by how old it looked.

After playing games like Bad Company 2 and Uncharted 2... I can't even look at it.

But it is a LOT like Bad Company.

I never played any other battlefield games

Yes BF2 killed it...and I have heard 1942 was better. I got it for 5 dollars haha.

And the BF2 servers aren't as populated as they used..expected of course...

I wonder what peeps are playing now that is like BF1942 or even BF2?

Now everybody's playing Bad Company 2.

Like about 100 times more people than ever played Battlefield 2.

I never tried BF2 myself... and I was never a Counterstrike person (in the same way that I was never a Dungeons and Dragons/Magic The Gathering/Da Vinci Code person.... there's only SO FAR i'm willing to go...) so I can't comment much on that... but I can say Bad Company 2 is awesome.

I've heard of BadCompany 2..I was never a CounterStrike person either. Could you tell me some of popular and not so popular features of BadCompany 2?

More people playing it than BF2 during it's heyday? That would be incredible.
I'm a huge Battlefield fan and have been playing the series online since BF 1942. I played DC, then Vietnam, then BF2 and the expansions, I've spent hundreds of hours in BF games over the past 7 years. Bad Company 2 is definitely different than BF42 and BF2, it is on a much smaller scale (maybe about 1/4 the size of BF2), but it has its pros and cons. I'd say the infantry combat is a little better than it was in BF2 and there are a lot more specialization options (similar to COD4) that allow you to make a soldier that fits your style of play. The vehicles though are definitely a step backwards, vehicle combat, IMO, is a far cry from BF42 and BF2; the choppers are just completely dumbed down and clunky, there are no flyable jets either. However, I enjoy the game for what it is, but am definitely looking forward to the next "full" battlefield experience (Battlefield 3! :D).

The bottom line is: it's a good game that does some things better than BF2 and some things worse. Infantry combat is quite good, but don't buy it just for the vehicle combat.

Thanks..I'll wait then. I enjoy vehicle combat a lot..and w/out or something not as good as BF2..then Id probably not be as happy.

it's called ea117 fan favorites and the admins play all day long mastering the art of teamstacking to a point where you cannot roll out of your uncapturable base without getting killed by a bomber one of their regulars is flying.(some of these guys are on 24/7) it's almost a worthless effort to tell them their server is skewed....in every aspect by the way, nasty friends of the admins chime in with their nonsense and elevate the problem too.i've been kicked probably 20 times as opposed to the admin's friend who dosen't have to worry about that. most of their maps are one-sided and the players with the fastest ping get in first and ambush you. a real shame because there used to be alot of good servers but now there is only one.well actually NONE.
