View Full Version : Asus K52J can't play games

It seems that most of my games that I install on this brand new laptop crash instantly when being ran. Company of Heroes is the only one that has been successfully installed and working. Crysis and others that work fine on my desktop just won't work. As soon as you try to play them, it tells you the game has stopped working.


2.53GHz Intel Core i5-430M
4GB of DDR3 1066MHz DRAMn
ATI 5470 1GB DDR3 Dedicated VRAM
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Operating System


Oh also, Yes. I've tried using compatibility mode and running as admin.

Have you checked your temps? I was having the same problem with mine until I got a laptop cooler and blew out the intake fan on the laptop.

That would make certain games crash instantly and not others?

It's not the issue. Laptop has been off all night, booted fresh this morning and same problem.

I'm really lost here. It's a fresh OS, and only certain games don't work. Anybody have any ideas?

Ok got a little update. Almost all of my games work now. I reinstalled my video drivers, and now more of my games are working. I should say, enough of my games. So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to try them, but I'm good for now.
