the thing won't boot at all nothing but fans turning and hard drive spinning no screen or beeps. useing dragon plus.. is processor bad or what could it be Thanks

Did it ever work?
Try reseating the memory, video card, etc. Even a dead processor should give you a beep.

yes it did work for a while but it would lock up when starting windows. sometime i got it to start and it run fine. I returned my mobo and got a new one now the thing seems dead. the chip wouldn't work in a friends mobo either. can the go like that
Does the board definately work? I got that with a dead K7S5A.

don't know if it works or not would cleaning the thermal grease out of the bridges help me any it just is dead it wouldn't work in another board leading me to believe the chip is bad, the other board of my friends did the same thing with the chip no startup.
