My duron just started to lock up! It was so stable b4... though its temps never got above 46C (ASUS mobo probe + MBM5.1) now they're at 47-48C... but still.. never had a problem now I run it at 130x8 = 1040 b4 it was running 1048.. it does seem to run stable but dunno for how long. the Vcore didn't change, nothing did. My T-Bird was 100% stable w/ temps of 57C and it was with the same mobo model. What gives? Are the durons so temp sensitive or is the high Vcore plays a role in all this?

Check to see if your vcore voltages, 5V and 3.3V are fluctuating. You may have a problem on your 5V in the ATX connector. If they are fluctuating have a feel around the ATX block to see if its getting hot. There may be a problem with the connector. Have a look at Hoots article on 5V problems.

Nope nothing's wrong w/ PSU... the 3.3 is at 3.57 w/ no fluncs at all
The +5V is at 4.89 avg. w/ very, very seldom fluncs... I don't think its the PSU... its cool enough too...

How long have you been running that duron? maybe its already wearing down... and you just cant clock it as high as before....

Its just not stable make sure the chip will pass prime95 for awhile then you wont get another lock up.

Looking at what you have detailed your temps are on the edge of too high. I have found with Durons that they start getting flakey around 50C. I would redo the HSF with new thermal compound or get a better HSF. You may even try lapping the HSF.

You really can't wear out a CPU. I would be concerned about the generic H/S.
