Error shutting down

I am using Windows Xp. Every now and then when I try to shut down it just hangs at the "shutting down" screen. When this happens I cannot just manually turn off the computer pushing the button does nothing, any ideas? Anyone have similar problem?

Thats wierd, I had the same problem. I didn't start OCing my comp until a couple days after installing WinXP, so I assumed it had something to do with the OCing. I used to have to unplug the rig just to shut it down. Now it performs flawlessly, I can't remember exactly how I fixed it, but try this. http://www.auhma.org/a/shtdwnxpz.htm

I was hoping I wasnt only except I am yet to OC my cpu (just vid card a bit) I got no aftermarket cooling.
