I use 2x netgear gigabit switches (Metal Case ones) and they work great. One is a 5 port and one an 8 port. I consistently get right at 110MB/s through it, which is almost 100% throughput. That makes quick work of large files. Got them on instant rebate deals and coulnt be happier.

Yep, that would be it. I think I got the 5-port for around $20 and the 8-port for $40. They have worked great between my media server and main machine.

I love my DGS-2208 so yea the DGS-2205 would be a great pick. However the price difference is only a few dollars, so why not get the 8 port model.
