Just ordered a new pot. As much as I like the F1EE...I have a feeling this one will be noticably better :santa:

Nice, I bet that burned a hole in your wallet.

You'll have a pot comparison up soon?

So that was yours!? I HATE you. I feel in love with that thing as soon as I saw it. I'm also loving the one that has a more open center of yours. Looks like sex in copper form!

I'm a noob at this stuff but is this for LN2?

Khemikal
04-09-10, 12:51 PM
Yeah, it is for LN2/DICE. Miah does a good bit of LN2 benching and likes to use LN2 for the reviews he does if/when he has time.

Wow, looks pretty!

Are most copper Pots finished in anyway? (Nickel plated, anti-oxidation coating) Over time, is there noticeable oxidation on the copper?

Yes it did...and for that reason...I'm not doing a write-up on it :p

Yeah...I've been eyeblalling the other one for a while...but when I saw the first sneak-peeks of this one, I was like OMG

My P55A-UD7 review was just completed...it should be posted in the next couple days

Most posts are not finished. And yes, over time they loose their "bling" due to oxidation...but most of the time they're covered in insulation anyway...so its really no big deal ;)

Oh cool, you went with the open center design. That looks awesome to me honestly since I know I cant get LN2 around here and will have to do DICE when I go cold. Cant wait for frosty pics.

It feels about twice as heavy as the F1, and as you can see, it's quite a bit larger.

I was planning to test it on my 980X tomorrow with my UD7 mobo, but unfortunately, there is a clearance problem with the caps near the socket and the HUGE base on this thing :( Not sure what I'm going to do....maybe I'll be able to file it down, but I'm waiting to hear back from Andi (builder) about that. Otherwise, I'll have to wait for testing on my E760 in a couple weeks.

Looks nice Miah. The F1 has def been put through the rigors I see. Could use some TLC to make it all pretty again. Looking forward to some live stream soon!

That pot has Koolance Ass. It's huuuuuge!

I put a copper plate between my pot and the CPU now, it's the only way to get a good mount.

That's a beast of a container. Makes my Rev3 Mousepot look like a kids toy, but it still does the job for me ;)

Oh man....I've been really worried that I made a $400 mistake with this thing, but my fear has faded....I benched with it tonight, and IT IS AMAZING!!!
Benching wPrime with a Westmere quad quad tonight at around 1.8V and -180C, the temperature was incredibly easy to control, and I'd only get 1-2C degrees of swing under load.

Comparing with the F1EE where at around -145C you get this violent boil off and pot temps are very difficult to modulate between -145 and -165C...this thing was dead steady all the was to -185C (where I got my CB).
I was also ver concerned about burning through more LN2 & propane with so much mass, but I was very suprised this was not the case, I would say it about equal with the F1EE, and it was much easier to torch than the F1EE + aluminum extension.

Despite it's shortcomings on the fit and mounting....the performance more than makes up for it.

it's a shame you dropped to the level of claiming gold HWBot cups as bullshyt WR's records. i thought you were better than that, guess i was wrong.

one less person on my christmas card list i guess :(

Jody...those are global WRs:

go to HWBot.org click on "World Records" at the top of the page.

put your name at the top of one of those lists and then my friend, you have a world record.

you have two global gold cups, nice results no doubt. but not every gold cup, global for a certain amount of cores or not, is a world record. every benchmark has one world record, always has. just now every body thinks a gold cup is a world record...it isn't. i was making a joke about it and you are getting your panties all up in a bunch because you think global gold cups are world records despite clearly being able to distinguish them in your PM to me.

be proud of your results but don't feel like you have to advertise them as something they clearly aren't. they are global gold cups, nothing to be ashamed of

That's an interesting perception to consider, it never crossed my mind. If it's the fastest time with a given component - I could see how it could be considered a world record. But when you are using hwbot as the authoritative source for what is or is not a world record, makes sense to use their nomenclature. Cups, WR, etc etc. Nice catch.

Of course, HWBot doesn't seem to award World Record Points for 2d stuff, or at least not WP.
