Hey Guys,
It's been a month or so since I've been here, so I have an old question that would be new to me.

I want to install a 1900 or 2000 XP in my KT7A-R. When I do this, what is the "FAVORED" unlocking technique for the XP, or is it advisable to unlock.

I'm waiting for my new MOBO coming in tommorrow. "OOPS" !!!
Burned up the last one. This ASUS is on its way to CALIFORNIA.

Thanks for the Replies,
Michael

Depends on the size of your kahones really...they're a bit trickier than the tbirds. The general consensus seems to be fill the laser trenches with superglue/epoxy etc type stuff and then paint the bridges in with your prefered conductive paint <circuit works pen, defogger kit, whatever>. If your board and ram can stay alive at relatively high FSBs you might be able to pass on it. Since my board tops out at 148 or so I'm going to be unlocking mine in the near future, 1700+ at just shy of 2000+ speeds <1.66 ghz> isnt enough, lol, id like to see a REAL 1.7 ghz out of it

Thanks Mike,

Me thinks that my "Huevos" are large enough. I just need to know if this is the preferred way. I haven't been reading up on the XP's lately, because I burned down my KT7A-R a couple of weeks ago. It had something to do with a new Antec 400w PSU -- OPPS -- I pulled a true "IDIOT" - "BABOON" stunt !!!! Always remember to unplug & shut off your system when "dicking" around !!!!!
But now I'm almost ready to go with CABLE & a new RAID config., with a ABIT Siluro GF3 Ti 500 64MB G-card.
The next step will be the XP2000 & WIN XP --- to O/C is after setup.
