The BIOS is most laptops is primitive: there are no overclock settings.
And the same goes in Amilo Xi 2428, though updated with newest BIOS.

What i want is a program that could lower the frequency of DDR2 from 333 MHz to 200 MHz in Windows, so that the FSB would match the processors 200 MHz.

BUMP!

I need some sort of program quick, there is a laptop that need diagnostics and fixing.

Can anybody help me? I need to lower the RAM FSB - is there a program for doing that?

MAYBE Set FSB, i think that's going to be locked to the CPU too... not 100% sure.

If you're running diagnostics to see if the RAM is bad (it sounds like that's what you might be doing) then you should just run Memtest86+. Manipulating a laptop's FSB is tough - changes from model to model and doesn't always work. Not all hardware will support it.

Download CPUZ for monitoring speed.
Download SetFSB for tweaking FSB speed.

You will need to know the clock generator of the laptop in question. Sometimes google will help. Otherwise you'll need to find the serial stamped on the motherboard.

Example:

Then you set your clock generator in SetFSB and start tweaking until you get the results you are looking for.

I don't recall seeing any software that can change the DRAM Divider.

why do you want to lower it to 200mhz, instead i would attempt to get it to 400mhz and maybe loosen the timings a bit.

edit: here is memset, worth to look at
