Peltier Questions

Okay Aqua Stealth sells a 72W peltier with a molex connector already attached to it, and i want to know if i run if off of a power supply which power supply can handle it? ...i've heard mosat 300watts will run an 80w pelt. but what do i look for on the spec sheet of the PSU? here are the specs for the peltier: 15 Volt, 8.5 Amps.

P.S. does any one know if this is a potted pelt? has anyone used this pelt from aqua stealth? and is this a good price w/ a molex connector for only 14.99?

Do you have a pic of the tec? If the sides are filled in with silicone or epxoy then it is potted but if you can see inside of the tec it is not potted. You can pot a tec yourself and it is a good idea to use potted ones because water can kill one of these things fast.

You can run a small tec up to around 80w off of a computer psu but all you are doing is getting away with it. I recomend a separate psu for the tec that can do the job right and also one that lets you varry the output voltage enabeling you to find the sweet spot.
